Finance Process Lead

Role Overview
SSCL requires a Process Lead to actively support the Head of Order to Cash and provide leadership, direction and motivation of people leading your team to deliver the highest quality of service. Although the role is primarily based in Newport the Order to Cash teams are spread over 2 SSCL locations, Newport and London, so regular travel will be required.

The role is client facing and will therefore will require a leader, who excels at delivering excellent customer service and can inspire their team to deliver a great service, often under challenging circumstances. You will also be required to review and refine processes and continuously look for ways to improve service and performance.
The role will have the responsibility for managing and delivering key activities and processes to ensure agreed SLAs and KPIs are achieved.  The scope of the Order to Cash team includes Debt Management, Cash Management and Third Party Money activities.

You will also be required to work with other SSCL Service Delivery teams including Purchase to Pay and Record to Report to support their key deliverables and to jointly work together to ensure the best service and experience is provided to the client at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and schedule own and team work to required timescales and to achieve performance targets
  • Ensure that agreed processes, standards, timescales and quality requirements are adhered to
  • Raise any issues of service incidents in a timely manner to ensure senior management are informed and ensuring incidents are investigated
  • Motivate, lead and deliver Order to Cash transactions and Service Requests in line with the accounting timetable and escalate any issues to the Head of Service
    Collating and where necessary produce/analyse statistical data/reports as required seeking to continuously improve processes
  • Maintain and review systems identifying and implementing service improvements
  • Create and maintain relationships with other SSCL Service teams, the client and other stakeholders
  • Communicate directly with the client when required, to ensure all key deliverables of the Order to Cash service are met

Essential Skills                                                                   

  • Experience of leading a number of small teams, managing them through the career framework procedure
  • Ability to set, analyse and achieve performance targets
  • Experience of delivering a high quality customer service in a professional manner
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Effective team player who displays commitment and flexibility
  • Knowledge of the principles of financial management and control
  • Experience of working under pressure to deliver against a range of issues and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to continuously improve performance and deliver change at pace

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of managing a Finance tem, preferably Order to Cash
  • Experience of working with relevant systems e.g. Oracle
  • Experience of working within the Police / Public / large Local Authority sector
  • Working within a high-volume transactional processing environment
  • Proven track record of delivering against performance targets
  • Knowledge and experience ISAE 3402 audit controls and standards
  • CCAB/CIMA/AAT qualified or part qualified / qualified by experience
