Project Leader

To take accountability for the successful delivery of projects, by leading and driving the project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outline project approaches and plans, background information and basic analyses of risk and return to assist central teams in developing commercially and contractually viable proposals and assist them in meeting their aims of securing business and meeting customer needs.
  • Ensure that all projects are appropriately constructed and delivered in the time-frame agreed with the customer
    and commercial team.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are engaged and remain committed to assigned projects and have complete and
    continuing awareness of the project plan, key milestones, progress to date and plans to completion, providing
    regular and accurate reports on progress, issues and plans to relevant senior client and SSCL management and escalating any issues as per defined Escalation Procedures.
  • Assist in the management of risks, issues and change, raising awareness of risks to ensure cost-effective and prompt resolution of issues.
  • Provide support in the positioning of SSCL solutions and services as required, enabling the customer to see the end-to-end capability of the team and so maximize sales opportunities.
  • Supports the formal closure of projects and the completion of project and lessons learned reviews in order to ensure that lessons learned are captured and passed to the relevant forum for action and enhance own and teams development, skills enhancement and overall contribution.    

Essential Skills -

  • Role holders will be expected to work on projects in a support and/or administrative capacity in a range of disciplines such as, but not limited to, business process, user experience, process optimisation,system integration, technical infrastructure, and IT service provision. May have project specific financial and/or quality objectives.
  • Collects data and reports progress against plans and variances
  • Coordinates integration and change management
  • Manages project plan responsible for risk and issue management across the project area.

Job Specific Qualifications -   

  • PRINCE Foundation certificate
  • Membership of a recognized professional IT body
