Senior Performance Analyst

Here at SSCL Newport, our Recruitment and Vetting service is looking for a Senior Performance Analyst to join our busy team, delivering a range of analytical services for the Metropolitan Police force, Government clients and internal stakeholders.

No two days are the same, thinking on your feet is a must and we encourage our people to lead with an inquisitive and curious mind to help our team strive for constant improvement through learning and development.

As a senior member of the Performance Analysis team based in Newport, you will develop performance measurement frameworks and tools to support activities such as routine performance measurement, ad-hoc data requests, process control and the day to day improvement and evolution of our recruitment service.

Established in 2013, SSCL (Shared Services Connected Limited), is a joint venture between Sopra Steria and the Cabinet Office.
SSCL are responsible for a large number of business transformation projects right across the UK government and public sector – the end goal is to achieve around £1billon worth of savings to the public purse.

We have an enviable track record in the design and delivery of large scale business support solutions including HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, Procurement and Administration for our long list of clients including The Department for Work and Pensions, Environment Agency Department for Education, Ministry of Justice, Met Police and the Home Office.
We operate from our 4 regional centres of excellence: Newcastle, Blackpool, Newport and York.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • To manage and schedule own/team work to required timescales and Service levels.
  • Develop and operate systems/tools to measure KPI/SLA and internal performance targets
  • To ensure that agreed standards/timescales/Quality Requirements are adhered to.
  • To motivate, lead and develop the team and encourage communication and collaboration.
  • Use data and the insights provided to identify and implement improvements.
  • To maintain/update procedural documentation required for audit standards
  • To provide support to operational delivery services as required.
  • To collate and where necessary produce/analyse statistical data/reports as required.
  • Input into / implement business process best practice/initiatives (such as Six Sigma, Security, Business Continuity etc) within own area.

Suitable Skills:

  • Able to select the appropriate medium to visualise data relevant to the target audience
  • Excellent understanding of relevant systems e.g. Oracle
  • Highly developed user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop and maintain tools using coding techniques (i.e. VBA)
  • Able to turn data into valuable insights that inform decisions
  • Able to identify areas of weakness and recommend improvements
  • Ability to set and achieve performance targets
  • Able to lead, coach and mentor and manage small teams
